Eggless Sourdough Pancakes
Was wondering what evening snack to make when I remembered that there was some sourdough starter discard lying in the fridge. So decided to try some eggless pancakes. This is such a simple no-fuss recipe. Your pancakes will be ready in minutes with minimum ingredients!
Sorry for the not-so-pretty photos. But the pancakes were so soft and …. they just vanished in a matter of minutes. I had hardly any time to decorate the plate or click pictures!
Eggless Sourdough Pancakes
Equipment
- Dosa Tava/ Griddle
Ingredients
- 1 cup Sourdough Starter Discard
- 1 tbsp Butter melted and cooled
- 2 – 2½ tbsp Honey
- ¼ tsp Salt
- ¼ tsp Baking Soda
- ¼ tsp Baking Powder
- 1 tbsp Olive Oil for greasing pan
Instructions
- Whisk together butter, honey and sourdough starter ensuring no lumps remain. Add salt baking powder and baking soda and stir.
- Heat tava on medium flame. Grease it with oil.
- Ladle approximately 1/4 cup of batter onto the tava. Cook for approx 30-40 seconds and flip. This side would be browned and cooked. Cook for another 30 seconds. (till both sides are evenly browned).
- Serve hot with honey / maple syrup / chocolate sauce !
